Carbohydrates and Lipids: Structure, Energy and Function
Includes: 5 Video Lessons, Interactive Exam Preparation, Key Concepts, Tests, and Notes
Carbohydrates and lipids are essential biological molecules with key roles in energy and structure. Carbohydrates, made of simple sugars like glucose, provide quick energy and can also support structures such as plant cell walls. Lipids, including fats and oils, are composed of fatty acids and glycerol; they store energy long-term, form cell membranes, and help protect and insulate the body.
