A1.2.1 Nucleic Acids Part 1 (Demo) 🧬
Nucleic acids are essential molecules that store and transmit genetic information in all living organisms. The two main types, DNA and RNA, are composed of nucleotide subunits that contain a sugar, phosphate group, and nitrogenous base. Their structures enable the storage of hereditary information, the synthesis of proteins, and the regulation of cellular activities. Understanding nucleic acids is fundamental to studying genetics, inheritance, and molecular biology in the IB curriculum.
